I think, if I understand the requirements that 1 3/4 yd. would be needed to provide the 28 people that are signed up with a 4 1/2 x 22 piece of fabric. You might want more in cass you made a cutting mistake. More if more people have signed up.
I was thinking that, if I signed up for a shuffle, I might get extra fabric to back the quilt or add to the quilt any way.
