    Auction Anna,
I am honoured to be receiving one of your pot holders.
Look forward to getting it, no rush Christmas a long way off. I did not read really well so did not realise highest bidder getting one. So a real surprise for me.
    Cheers.

Hi, sorry it took all day to get this posted, but it was just one of those days!!!

Joyce won the one potholder for being highest bidder.
Dtraut won the second one in a name draw thismorning.

It was a fun project, I hope you enjoyed it too. I will get everything mailed out asap, but keep in mind that isnt as fast as it once was. Work and doctor appoinments eat into my time just a bit.

Congratulations to everyone for the wonderful support of our shuffling!

Not crazy, just a little obsessed with Stashing.
I just have to decided once and for all what I am going to do with my win. Share with friends, put into ornament squares or make another Christmas quilt, but I already have two. Would keep me in applique fabric for Machine Applique for a long long time. Share, give, or all for me. Mmm.Post edited by: JHPym, at: 2008/03/06 18:54

Here is the list of auction winners. Tom is out tonight but will draw for the potholder when he comes home if not too late, or tomorrow morning. I will post the winners then.

But the winners of the auction itself are as follows

Joyce, Auction 1 Reds and the highest single bid so
    1 potholder to her

Cobrajetjohn, (Pat) Auction 3 Mixed 56
    Auction 5 Mixed 29

    Anna, Auction 2 Greens
    Auction 4 Mixed 29

I know I have a good plan for my noodles and it sounds like the other ladies do too. Thanks to everyone who joined in. I wish I could make a potholder for each of you!!
    Hugs Anna

As no one else was as insane as I. I think I have this lot!! Seems a little greedy, well, a lot greedy, but is OK by me. I like cobrajetjohn's idea about giving to quilting friends for presents. Think I will halve and give my two bestest friends a bundle each. Yahoo! two presents for birthdays done. I am sure they will love the fact that they came from all my friends in other towns and countries. Roll them up like a bon bon, wrap them in a tea towel (dish towel) that I have embroidered and Hey Presto, done - a present without having to leave the house. Gotta love it.

Explanation of EST for auction end

  • Explanation of EST for auction end - 2008-03-05 03:34:47-05
I know how confusing the different time zones are. I have family in all North American time zones and making phone calls gets tricky!

EST is the actual time in places like Toronto, New York, and Miami. It is now 11:25am. Since the auction is ending at 10 pm there is about 10 1/2 hours left until auction end.

When it is 10pm EST it will be:
    Toronto, 10 pm
    Chicago, 9 pm
    Sydney Australia 2pm on Thursday
    London England 3am on Thursday

    Hope this helps.
    Happy Bidding
    Anna

Check them closely to see how many of the noodles went into bribes, oops presents.
Great idea Anna, now get Tom sewing. Has he put that last piece onto the big machine yet? The one that was in the back of his truck?
Keep him busy, just got a wonderful magazine from Sue called Quilt Mania, with a whole section on men quilters. What amazing quilts!

Re:gift for two lucky bidders

  • Re:gift for two lucky bidders - 2008-03-03 06:09:25-05
Nope we havent put the remote handle on the machine or put the machine back on the quilt frame. But Im getting closer! I found my machine, my fabric stash I was working on before, but I still have yet to find my thread basket. I think someone hid it on me on purpose to see how long I could go without sewing. But little do they know I have a rubber made box downstairs full of part spools of thread. So haha to the hiders!!!
And nope, no noodes except maybe mine in the potholders. I have to try and get rid of some stash too right?
    Hugs Anna

Re:gift for two lucky bidders

  • Re:gift for two lucky bidders - 2008-03-02 18:41:18-05
Ok, this is getting silly, but here is thought number 3.

My husband came out to see what I was working on and when I told him idea #1 and #2 he had his own thoughts.
Seems you guys have made an impression on him with your friendship and generousity. He thinks I am mean to only give a chance to win to those who can afford to spend big money. And you know what? He is right, but dont you dare tell him I said that! I have to live with the man!!!
So this is Toms idea and it will be the one we will go with.

Everytime anyone puts a bid in on an auction set their name goes into a hat. On Wednesday night after the auction closes Tom will draw two names from the hat and those people will get the silly potholders!!!

Sound fair? You all have Tom to thank for the final plan. Just goes to show you why I picked him and keep him around.

    Hugs from us both
    Anna and Tom this time

And here is the potholder without binding yet. Post edited by: usannda, at: 2008/03/03 00:41

I think I will get in and bid on this one. I can use the noodles to make some great placemats and pot holders for next Christmas. I have a pattern for quilt as you go that would make these up sooo fast!! If you ask me for it I will be happy to pass the pattern on.

I bid 15 dollars, Sorry Pat, but this is too much to resist!!!

On second thought, I think I will make 1 for the top two bidders in this set of auctions since there are 5 lots. So get your bids in so you can see first hand whether or not I can even sew a straight line!!!!
PS, This is the first thing that I will have sewn since Toms accident. I needed a really good reason to search my house for all the things my kids hid, oooops cleaned up for me while I was in the hospital. Im still looking for my basket of threads. I may have to ask one of them where to look.
Have fun, I know I will.
    Hugs again,
    Anna

For those in the Southern Hemisphere, this fabric will give you something to do over the cold winter months in preparation for Christmas.
Do not be shy, we hear some members have difficulty buying fabrics of this quality in their country. You do not have to be a Noodle Nut to bid and purchase these lots. The more the merrier in the bidding wars.
