You're a star! It's all I can do to read the forum and sometimes chat. And I use a computer for work! Talk about a dumb blonde (at least its natural)(and starting to look more grey than blond)

Alas, I have to wait. I asked PJ to hold my sept, oct and nov and mail them all together so there won't be any coming while I'm away. I also have auction noodles. So I will have 4 bnches come at once and if I show restraint I will put them under the tree and open them for Xmas. But we'll see what really happens when they come. But think of the fun I will have in January while you guys have all used yours up already!!!! Pat

Shh, Don't say too much, the Australian noodles not arrived yet, still a few days off getting here. We are jealous, want them now!!
Its great to see you liked your first Shuffle. It really is exciting receiving them and now the ideas will be flowing, but I bet you had already a plan in mind, you seem so organised with your quilting.

I have received my Sept. noodles. They are a very interesting and diverse group of fabrics with no two the same.

Okay you convinced me Country or farm is not a bad idea. I have lots of tractors, since my husband went through a faze of liking them a lot. I will do my best as long as the job and the money don't get too short. I just wish my classes I teach would pick up and get past having just one student at a time. They all seem to love the classes when they take them but only get one at a time.
    Ahhhh such is life. LOL

HORRAY! I am so happy that you have decided to take on this task. If you need any help feel free to holler at me. I have tons of programs so if there is one you want to do the scrapbooking with let me know I can send you a copy. The preview is great! I cant wait to see what you can do once you get some new digial tools. You truly have to be a noodle nut to take on this task!

I am sure that photos are going to come flooding in, of sample blocks, silly noodle photos, us sewing, making lots of memories to share with each other. This is starting to feel more like a quilting family rather than a quilting club!

I think all of you ladies are GRAND! It is each and every one of you that makes the swapping special and it is just great that we have someone that is going to put it all together to show off our memories and bring us even closer.

Marilyn I think you are just perfect for the job and I know you will have a blast putting it all together. Just rember that if ya need help, advice to just to vent you have a world of friends out here to help you on your way!

Thanks for being OUR Noodle Scrapbook Nut!!

I agree, buy the Christmas Fabric at the sales, hang onto it until we decide when to share it. Country/Farms can be barns or anything to do with farms, scarecrows, tractors, windmills, looking in my stash at what I have already, chooks (hens, roosters) Chook house wire, Cows, horses, sheep, even some plaids are country to me, like a mans work shirt etc. Fruit trees like apples, oranges, orchards the mind boggles at the possibilities.
Wish I was going shopping, country a bit scarce at the moment here and it is my favorite theme.
1930's I think is a reproduction of the fabrics from then, a lot of the patterns are taken from the flour bags that were available in the United States, not sure if they were available in Australia. They are readily available here and Alex Anderson on Simply Quilts often talks of them. Lovely pastel shades and small floral prints, really lovely. Hope you can find them too on the Spree. Enjoy Joyce

I like the choices you mentioned Joyce. I might suggest that the farm one could be barns or other things, not just animals. I too buy Christmas fabric when it is on sale so it doesn't matter when the swap is. I like Anna's suggestion as well.

I also think Xmas should be no later than Sept, so we can make something by Xmas.
But I will probably buy them all now if I find a good sale and can send them whenever required.
And to me country/farms is more scenery than animals, as I am not (sorry for saying this) an animal person.

Tennye, thank you I will check those out. I have been googling and trying to work out which is the most useful site in regard to backgrounds, borders and clip art that I could make use of. There are a number of them - so I am going through them all. But if someone knows someone who uses one, it can be a good starting point.

    Marilyn,
You did a great job. There is a website that is a forum like this one, only it is free called Scraplove and they do both digital and real scrapbooking. There are several others that my daughter is on but I don't know the names of them. I think one is splitcoast. You could google it and see what you get.

Well, I plan to buy my christmas fabric in Jan. no matter what time of year we do the Christmas noodle, because I may be losing my one job so I may be short for the rest of the year. I have no other reason for anything. I don't really care for farm animals so I will most likely not participate that month.
I love the 30's and the under the sea so that will be my second favorite after Christmas.

Can I suggest this order and why?

If anyone has other ideas and wants to share them and why, we could sure use the imput.

Country/Farms for January so some of us could have it to use for Easter which is in March this year.

March, Beach/Under the sea, to cheer us Northern Hemisphere people up after a long winter, and lucky Southern Hemishere dwellers can celebrate their summers coming to an end

May, Brights because they maybe able to go with the previous shuffle of brach/sea

July, The 1930s, just because I think I for one will need that long at least to find a suitable replica pattern in my limited shopping choices

September, Tone on Tone. for no other reason than its the last one left before the Christmas shuffle

    November, Christmas.

Now the only other way I could see to do this would be to put the Christmas shuffle in January so we could buy our material when it goes on sale after Christmas, and then just move everything else down one shuffle. Make sense?

    Hugs, and happy shuffling
    Anna

Well Ladies, seems like I am definitely a nut. PJ has said so !!! Just bear with me while I do some experimenting and work this out. Meanwhile, I can grab your pics from Show and Tell if you put them there, or you can email them to me - pm me for my email address. I will call on others if I need help in any way. I am still searching for better digital scrapbooking program,so if anyone knows anything about them I would love to hear it.

  • Re:Noodle Shuffle Themes for 2008 - You Decide - 2007-10-22 19:23:48-04
The top 6 on the list were:
    1. The Beach/under the sea
    2. Christmas
    3. 1930's
    4. Tone on Tone
    5. Country/Farms
    6. Brights

I suggest that these will be the 6 months. Not necessarily in that order as Christmas will be the last one. Joyce

How is the voting coming along. Do we at least have January and March figured out. Or do I just buy 2 yards of the top 8 and hope I use up the extra?
November is my unlimited shopping (not quite), after that the budget hits hard.

This morning I did a bit of experimenting with a very basic digital scrapbooking program I have (which I have not used before.) I am posting what I did to see how it looks -it doesnt seem very sharp on the photo program so this is the best way to check. My daughter is looking into other digital scrapbooking programs for me so if she comes up with something I can let you know.

Ok. So idea is there but quality of photo isnt. Will have to look into it more.

I ,too, could post photos, but don't know about the scrap booking part. Seems like I would need software for that, that I don't have. I even have an empty gallery that I didn't mean to make.
