I was the one who put the labels on my noodle fabric. I thought that you would want to know who sent it. My fabric was cartoon like animals - Moose, Geese, etc. I can't wait to get my noodles. I am patiently waiting..............so please hurry up!!

Anna, a fantastic idea. Jean and I were trying to work them out on Friday, and wanted to know those that hadnt given a preview. We also want to be able to make note of where each comes from. Mine is the Australian animals on LIGHT background (was in preview photos). There is one the same but with a green background - dont know who sent it.

My fabric for July, from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada was white polar bears on blue background, I think with ice flows. Everyone seems to think Canada is in the North pole, although it is 28C out right now, so I thought it appropriate. Couldn't think of any other local animal.
My August is mostly green backgrond(leaves ) and pale mauve flowers.

Noodle Shuffle August Update-8/18/07

  • Noodle Shuffle August Update-8/18/07 - 2007-08-18 09:53:19-04
    Hello Noodle Shufflers,
Wow it is August already!! July shuffle is almost to an end, parcles are being received all over the globe. I have to admit it is nice to get a package in the mail, even better that each piece came from a different part of the World.

This monthÂ's theme is International Floral/Flora. The size of the noodles is staying the same 4 ½ by 22 inches. If you are intrested in sending extra money for the international shipping, Joyce and I both want to thank you for your support.

Members are able to start shipping their noodles to their hostess. If you are signed up and donÂ't have an address for your Hostess fell free to email us at
    noodleshuffle@creative-quilting.com

It is time to start signing up for the September Shuffle. The theme is ChildrenÂ's prints. The noodles should create a great quilt for us to give at Christmas time or for that special birthday. If you are intrested in signing up for the September Shuffle please send an email to us at noodleshuffle@creative-quilting.com with your information.

Need extra noodles? On September 1st we will be having our first Noodle Shuffle Auction! Yes you heard right! We will be having an auction for the left over sets of noodles. There are 5 sets left over from the July shuffle. The proceeds from the auction will be put into a Noodle Shuffle International Shipping fund. Winners will be able to pay for their winÂ's using paypal. There will be a shipping and paypal fee for the winning bidders.

The auction is open to anyone that is signed up at Creative Quilting! Some members are sending in extra noodles to be put in the auction. So make sure you donÂ't miss out on this fun!

    You are invited!
Tell everyone you know to come and join in on the fun!
The auction will be held in a private chatroom. In order to get in you will need to visit the Noodle Shuffle Page before the auction is due to start. From there you will be given the instructions to the Private Chatroom.

Why the private chatroom? Well we are not sure if there are any rules on the Internet when it comes to auctions. So to be safe, and to make sure bidder are from the Creative Quilting site we are asking you to go to the Noodle Page chatroom before the auctions to be directed to the Auction Chatroom.
Bidders must be signed up at Creative Quilting.

There will be two auction times both will be on Saturday September 1st at 5pm. The Austrailian members will have one on their September 1st (they are a day ahead of the United States) Then the United States will have one at their 5pm on September the First.
Winners will need to pay for their winnings while at the auction. Exceptions will be made for the bidders that have been a member for more than 3 months. Anna,
Mine was the platypus fabric, I think this is a lovely idea. I loved the label on the Canadian fabric, and was planning to include a note with my florals, as when I read the selve edge it tells you all the flowers are state emblems and I thought the ladies would be interested.

I did not take part in July Shuffle, I have mailed my August Flora, like Anna it would be good to be able to identify where the Noodle came from.
I did print off labels, Name of Flower, name of fabric, etc tacked label onto a noodle, had second thoughts, scraped that idea.

Now that some people have their noodles shuffled back to them Im wondering how you feel about this idea.
I would like everyone who participated to describe the fabric you sent in so the rest of us know who or at least where it came from. Some of us posted a picture of our fabric, but lots others dont have any way to do that.
I would love to make note of all my lovely new friends in the project Im going to make so in years to come I can tell my great grandchildren, See this piece, it came from England from a lovely lady named,....
    How about it ladies?

My fabric is the one with fawns, bunnies, racoons, red foxes.

    I love noodles

Hi All, I just arrived home after nearly 3 days away, and the first thing I looked for was my special parcel. It was here waiting for me. So exciting!!! Thank you all for putting so much thought into your choice of fabrics. I have changed my mind about what I will do with them - a new idea is forming.
Love the label. How great to have that to remember our first noodle shuffle. Makes it even more special.

Ok got a question for ya!!

Did anyone that was in the July Noodle Shuffle see a new animal for the first time?

    Lets hear your story!!

    Here is mine:

I have seen/heard of them all. But I have to admit that the Australian possum looks nothing like the American possum. Please take no offence.. but the look like a Badger/bat/possum/ant eatter mixed **B.O.L.**

    PJ,
Are we going to re-use the envelopes? Joyce mentioned it. I thought I'd enclose a page of address labels, so she could just stick it over the one with her name on, save a bit of hassle.Let me know anyway, also how much extra to add for international postage. Thanks again for all your and Joyce's work.

Glad you have received your noodles. What fun. I am going to think about mine while away. Everyone else should get theirs today or tomorrow I would think, yours was in a quick envelope so you were first. Enjoy, when PJ says put the next lot in the mail and the Post office is going to hold my mail and I can then get it off quickly to US on the 1st Sept.

I agree with all that has been suggested, we cannot have Joyce P J out of pocket for extra postage.
My first thought is that we do not want to spoil their fun of shopping for fabric, always a treat.
The July Shuffle, the first, has shown up the pitfall and delights of a shuffle. Now successfully achieved.
Somehow, I cannot think how, we need to build up a cash
reserve for extra postage, without extra work for Joyce P J.
Feel sure ideas will keep coming in.
    Jo

They Came!!

  • They Came!! - 2007-08-12 22:10:58-04
I think my birthday came early!! We got home from a trip to the doctor in Ballarat which is an all day event almost to find TWO parcels. Firstly the noodles and my new John Watts quilting frame that I ordered at the quilt show a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't wait and opened the noodles immediately. Lovely, lovely., lovely, no 2 the same totally different, but they sort of blend. What does any one else think. I don't know what I'm going to do with them yet, think I'll have to lay them out after the kids leave tomorrow and just look for inspiration. Thanks so much to Joyce and PJ, you did a wonderful job. I got my floral for this month today too- a black background with waratah, Sturts desert pea, flowering gum, wattle orchids among others. I'm just so excited.

    Off to play now..

    Joy

Re:Future Noodle Shuffle Ideas

  • Re:Future Noodle Shuffle Ideas - 2007-08-12 12:48:20-04
But if they (moderators)want to buy fabric to exchange as well, we could still put in one or two extra noodles each and do the auction or whatever is decided for the extras they already have. That way there would be on ongoing sale every month or so for the postage fund. But be careful how it is worded, because I know here you need a license for raffles etc, not sure how things work on the internet. I'm new to this type of thing.

Re:Future Noodle Shuffle Ideas

  • Re:Future Noodle Shuffle Ideas - 2007-08-12 11:16:34-04
Joy, I like your idea of putting the 2 extra in for Joyce PJ each month. So whatever the count would be just add the two extra. Nice thought for all their efforts. Suzyq

Re:Future Noodle Shuffle Ideas

  • Re:Future Noodle Shuffle Ideas - 2007-08-12 10:53:52-04
I just had a thought reading through all the noodle posts, what about if Joyce and PJ didn't have to buy fabric, we just put a strip for each of them. That would save them $40-50 (going on 2 mt @$20-25 mt) and that should help toward the postage. I know we'd get 2 strips less, but I'm prepared to settle for 26 instead of 28 etc . I think it's only fair that they shouldn't be out of pocket. I'm still prepared to put in a couple of dollars extra for postage if thats the way people vote.
