I have been thinking on the same lines as cobrajetjohn about the Noodle Shuffles. I know my budget is a lot less these days.
We could downsize the number in a year to 2 as suggested. Christmas is always fun though, so perhaps 3 one always being Christmas.
I would also like to swap squares again like we did with the Christmas Ornament swap, that was so much fun and we learnt how to paper piece in the bargain. Perhaps you have ideas about something else along those lines.
I have been swapping Fat 1/4's on an embroidery website, swapping 2 fat quarters with another member. (you can sign up to swap with however many you like) I swapped with 3 ladies straight out of my stash so did not go out and spend on that. You can enclose a post card from your area and some put in little surprises like cottons and buttons etc.
Swapping is such fun, but as you say budget matters. Plus it seems we have all had a busy 12 months and still have to do something with the Noodles we have collected so far.
Let us know what you would like to do, I am happy to help with organising Block swap or Fat 1/4's. No postage from Country to Country as in Noodle Shuffle, you organise to post your things direct to swap partner yourself.
Cheers Joyce
Forgot to wish you all a lovely summer. I forgot you have a life, unlike me stuck inside because finally it is raining (like it used to) don't know how long it will last, but hope it is falling into dam's and rivers somewhere.Post edited by: JHPym, at: 2008/07/07 19:03
A noodle shuffle is a great way for quilters and people interested in quilting to swap Noodles (2-1/2 inch strips of fabric). Members of a noodle shuffle send each other fabric to use in their quilts.
